D-Day Festival Normandy 2026

Chambre Supérieure
Every year, the D-Day Normandy festival pays tribute to the Allied Landings of June 6, 1944.

This 20th edition will take place from May 30 to June 14, 2026 across Normandy's iconic sites.

Since 2007, the event has brought together history enthusiasts, as well as families and tourists from around the world, around a rich programme.

A festival paying tribute to the D-Day Landings of June 6, 1944

Commemorations at the iconic D-Day sites

From Pegasus Bridge to Sainte-Mère-Église, taking in the famous D-Day beaches — Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword Beach — the festival unfolds along the entire Normandy coastline.

Official ceremonies will be held to pay tribute to the soldiers who fell for freedom, particularly on the historic beaches and in the military cemeteries.

Reenactments, parades and events to relive History

Throughout the festival, the region takes on the colours of the 1940s.

You will be able to attend historical reenactments, take part in parachute drops or admire vintage vehicle parades through the streets of Caen and surrounding towns.

This symbolic journey into the past is enriched by the presence of veterans and enthusiasts in period uniforms.

Among the highlights of 2026:
  • The grand parade of 150 military and civilian vehicles from Sword to Gold Beach via Juno Beach, on Friday, June 5, 2026;
  • The Bierniairèse, a sailing and rowing gathering in front of the Maison des Canadiens in Bernières-sur-Mer, on Saturday, June 6, 2026;
  • The 26th edition of the exhibition and reenactment of Camp Hillman in Colleville-Montgomery, from June 4 to 7, 2026;
  • The 39th edition of the Courants de Liberté, featuring the Marathon of Liberty, the Pegasus half-marathon and the Rochambelle;
  • The festivities at Radar Station 44, with a reenactment camp, British military vehicle exhibition and military communications equipment demonstration, from June 13 to 14, 2026.

A cultural programme for all audiences

The D-Day Festival is also a moment for sharing and passing on history.

Conferences, exhibitions, military music concerts, folk dances and shows for young and old punctuate these two weeks of commemoration.

A fun and educational way to better understand the issues of the Second World War.
