Covering an exhibition area of almost 2,300 m², the museum tells the remarkable story of what happened in the Normandy campaigns: from the advance of the Allied troops on D-Day on 6 June 1944 to the liberation of Paris on 25 August 1944.
As part of the museographic journey, the museum presents the film « Normandie 44, victoire décisive à l’Ouest », based on archival documents. This film, made by a historian of the Second World War, explains the major operations of the Battle of Normandy.
The museum also displays military equipment used during the fighting on the D-Day landing beaches, such as bulldozers, jeeps and cannons.
The main objective of this museum is to share the history of the Second World War and to serve as a place of remembrance, while honouring the memory of civilians and fallen soldiers.
